Excursions and tours in Costa Rica – Hotel Paraiso del Cocodrilo
We are happy to help you organize various excursions and tours within the Guanacaste region. Our offer includes a selection of different activities – for action friends as well as for nature and animal lovers.
There are many different destinations, among them the hidden creeks of Rio Tempisque. Here you are able to see crocodiles in their natural environment. In addition, we also organize horse riding trips through the jungle and along the beach. As well as boat tours for fishing or watching dolphins. Of course, we also arrange various sports trips, e.g. kayaking, canoeing or even a canopy tour.
A small selection of different destinations:
Volcano Rincón de la Vieja
How about a trip to the Rincón de la Vieja volcano? Here you can enjoy mud baths and hot springs at around 45° C. The 1895 meter high volcano is located in the National Park Guanacaste La Vieja. Its main attractions are the bubbling mud holes. The travel time from the hotel to the volcano is about 3 hours. On request there is also the possibility of an overnight stay.
Parque Nacional Barra Honda
The approximately 23 km2 large Barra Honda National Park is home to a tropical dry forest. It is known for one of the largest cave systems in Costa Rica. The park also has several trails that allow you to explore the natural features of the park. We recommend the guided tour in the caves. The travel time from the hotel to the park is about 1.5 hours.
The 138 km long Rio Tempisque flows from the Cordilleras Guanacastes to the Palo Verde National Park. It ends in the Gulf of Nicoya. Take a trip by boat, accompanied by a local guide. Watch crocodiles, birds and many other exotic animals as well as an impressive natural landscape. The travel time to the river is about 2 hours.
The hotel is the perfect starting point for excursions and tours to the various beaches in the area. How about a tour to the unspoiled Buena Vista beach? It will take you just 10-minutes walking.
At the beach you can visit the turtle-protection-project and, with a bit of luck, the hatch of young turtles. Or make your way to the beautiful Playa Barrigona. Here the sand is white and the water turquoise.
You can also take a trip to the romantic fishing village of San Juanillo, or visit the other beaches around Barco Quebrado, Garza, Guiones, Sámara, Carrillo, Islita and Bejuco.
